Naruko Narcissus Total Defense Make-up Removing Mousse Review and Pictures

In my review post of the Naruko Narcissus Defense BB Sunscreen SPF50★★★★, I was wearing some make up, which included the BB Sunscreen, concealer, eyeliner, eyebrow pencil and lip gloss. This is my basic make up, less the eyeshadow, blusher, highlighter etc.

Today, let's see how effective the Naruko Narcissus Total Defense Make-up Removing Mousse is at removing my make up! I've also tested it two other times on a more heavily made up face and had the same results. To find out how effective this make up removing mousse is, read on after the jump!

Naruko Narcissus Total Defense Make-up Removing Mousse

I don't usually go for oil-based make up removers, as they sometimes leave my skin feeling greasy. However, according to the description on Naruko.sg:
NARUKO Narcissus Total Defense Make-up Removing Mousse is an oil-based make-up remover that transforms into foaming mousse instantly upon one pump. The rich foam rapidly dissolves dirt and make-up, and deep cleans the pores. It contains Narcissus bulb extract and the patented Phytoferulin® complex to revitalize the skin. The residue free formula leaves the skin fresh, soft, smooth and purified without feeling tight.
With some assurance that it would be a relatively painless and non-greasy experience, I removed it from its packaging, hoping for the best.

Packaging

The mousse comes in a pump bottle with a cap that's filled with liquid. When dispensed, it turns into soft, dense, springy foam that smells fantastic (like all the other Naruko products, actually). Scroll down for pictures!

Ingredients

Natural ingredients: Alkyl Gluta mine Acids, Betaine, remella Fuciformis Extract, Phytoferulin, Botanical Oils Complex.

As mentioned, it contains Narcissus bulb extract and the patented Phytoferulin® complex to revitalize the skin. It also contains the gentle French ECOCERT-approved organic ingredients, chamomile extract and betaine, which have a highly efficient cleansing effect. Apparently, it's gentle enough to be used on the lips and around the eye area! Another plus is that it's made without parabens, preservatives, artificial ingredients or pigment composition - great news for those with sensitive skin prone to allergic reactions.

How to use it

1. Squeeze out three pumps of the make up removing mousse. I know that the picture below is nowhere near three pumps, but it's just to show you how dense the foam is, even in a small amount!

2. Gently massage it thoroughly on your entire face. That's me looking a little unsure whether to be happy that my make up is coming off.

3. Rinse with lukewarm water

4. If you have an oily T-zone, use a more concentrated amount to remove dirt and deep clean the pores.

5. You can also squeeze out some mousse and apply it around the eye area (with eyes closed) for 5-10 seconds, then gently massage and rinse off with lukewarm water. This would get your eye make up (mostly) off.

My Experiences with the Naruko Narcissus Total Defense Make-up Removing Mousse

After following the steps stated above to cleanse my face of the make up, I noticed that there was still some eyeliner that was not removed. It was mostly because I do tightlining (lining the underside of the top waterline), so it's really hard to remove eyeliner from that area without getting the make up removing mousse inside my eyes. Trust me, you do not want to get it in your eyes - a little got into my eyes and made them sting. To remove the excess eyeliner, I used my trusty Bioré Makeup Remover for Eye & Lip (it doesn't sting even if it gets into your eyes). I also swiped some water-based make up remover (Bifesta Cleansing Sebum Lotion) over my face, and it left just a hint of residual foundation on the cotton pad.

That is not to say that the Naruko Narcissus Total Defense Make-up Removing Mousse is not effective. In fact, it removed the same amount of make up at one go that a normal make up remover would take a few cotton pads to do - that's impressive. In comparison, my water-based Bifesta Cleansing Sebum Lotion takes 5 cotton pads to remove every single bit of make up from my face. Props to the Naruko Narcissus Total Defense Make-up Removing Mousse for removing the most amount of make up in the least amount of time.

Where can I purchase it and how much does it cost?

This product has been recently launched as part of the Naruko line carried in Watsons, so you can hop down to your nearest Watsons store to check it out. You can also get it from the Naruko SG website, where the full range of Naruko products are sold (international shipping is not available). It costs S$17.90 for a 150ml tube.

Stationery

And from the packaging, you can make a lovely little stationery holder! It does look a little like that one I made from the packaging of the Naruko Tea Tree Oil Out Acne Clay Clay Cleanser, doesn't it?
