Essence Glossy Lipbalm in Pink Dragonfruit

More Essence love to share with everyone, but this will be a shorter post. Essence Glossy Lipbalm in Pink Dragonfruit is a delightful, cheap bargain buy that works as a quick pop of colour/touch-me-up when you're on the go. It's more lip gloss than balm because it is very glossy, but it's also very moisturising. Swatches and details after the jump!

It comes with a squeeze-tube applicator (pictured below) - not the most convenient and precise way to apply lip gloss, but it will do for the price.

Colour-wise, Essence Glossy Lipbalm in Pink Dragonfruit is a lovely cool-toned pink with light pink shimmers. It definitely makes the teeth look whiter! I love how the pink shimmers add a touch of delicacy to this feminine and funky gloss.

Swatches on my arm, under white light and in the shade; the swatch on the left has been blended out, and the one on the right is straight from the tube.

If you're wondering whether it smells anything like dragonfruit... I have no idea. Possibly like an artificial sort of dragonfruit scent. The scent is definitely very pleasant and sweet though, in my opinion (and my SO thinks so too), but I can't quite place it. It's not the same as the candy scent of Essence Stay With Me Longlasting Lip Gloss. This one is more floral and fruity, with a hint of vanilla or something similarly sweet.

The texture is slightly more watery than Essence Stay With Me Longlasting Lip Gloss, but still sticky. This gives it a more glossy, reflective and watery finish (almost like you licked your lips) compared to Essence Stay With Me Longlasting Lip Gloss.

Wear-time is relatively short - it lasts about 1-2 hours with light snacking/drinking, but needs to be constantly reappplied. It's also quite sheer, but this is good for more casual days where you need a hint of sparkle that doesn't overwhelm your natural lip colour.

The wear-time and sheer finish of Essence Glossy Lipbalm is acceptable as it only costs 2.20 SGD for 8.5ml of product! That's almost twice the amount of Essence Stay With Me Longlasting Lip Gloss, which only contains 4ml of product. I suppose 8.5ml is for touching up twice the number of times as compared to Stay With Me Lip Gloss. Heh.
